Senses working overtime #454

 1 Feeling hot this week

2 Listening: Cooled down by Jean-Luc Ponty's Mystical Adventures

3 Reading: Murakami and Smollett

“Some men are wise and some are otherwise.” (Tobias Smollett)

I continued with both of these during the week. Each has me hooked!

4 Watching: The Good Doctor - Season 2.

We continued to be hooked by the characters and storylines of The Good Doctor this week.

5 Listening: Michael Oher on what The Blind Side didn't show

Overtime:

"The wedding is an event, love is a practice.

The graduation is an event, education is a practice.

The race is an event, fitness is a practice.

The heart, mind, and body are endless pursuits."

2 Reading: Killing Commendatore (Haruki Murakami)

3 Listening: Thelonious Monk - Straight, No Chaser

4 Watching: The Good Doctor

5 Reading: The best sleeping position

I struggle with getting a good night's sleep at the best of times, but the recent heatwave had me considering this article.

Senses working overtime #452

1 Feeling this first week of January 2024:

2 Reading: Elton John's Me

3 Re-reading: Roderick Random (Tobias Smollett)

As with Elton's book, I picked up a copy a year or so ago and they've been in the to-be-read pile ever since. Time to correct that.

I read the Smollett book when at University (so, over 40 years ago), and decided on a whim to buy a copy from The Little Red Bookstore. Now re-reading it with different eyes (I guess different brain too, but maybe not).

4 Listening: Thelonious Monk - Plays Duke Ellington

I'm enjoying a bit of a Monk-a-thon at present. If it's only one song you have time for, try Caravan.

5 Reading: About the sixties San Francisco band - The Charlatans

Overtime:
