1 Groundhog week

A lot of rinse and repeat this week - with not much free time to progress through books (Moonraker/ Bread of Angels) or TV (Person of Interest).

2 Listening: The Who Sell Out

Ahead of its time and yet encapsulates 1967. Appreciating this one all over again this week.

3 Reading: Uncut Take 346

I am not a fan of Uncut (Mojo is far superior) but I'm a sucker for a Beatle cover!

4 Listening: Weirdo - Emma-Jean Thackray

A recommendation from Uncut paid off in this jazz inflected album from 2025. The messages may be as dark (and funny) as the cover image, but the music is joyful.

2 Listening: Howlin' Wind - Graham Parker

White Honey (first song on this his debut album) got a lotta plays this week (package arrived from Real Groovy)

3 Listening: Taylor Swift - Midnights

This was my most played album on Spotify in 2022. I'm still listening to my vinyl copy. It's still amazing.

If you just want one song - try Snow On The Beach, but really the whole album is her best yet. A five star classic. A new one is coming!

4 Listening: WTWMC True Colours

Greg 'Pretty Boy' Knowles has the latest colour choice - RED! Watch the fun unfold in real time during the week.

5 Watching: Oppenheimer on Spotify.

We split it over two nights - 3 hours is a tough ask when you're watching in your lounge.

Overtime: Letting go

Holding onto anger and resentment is like scuba diving with an anchor. As long as you're clinging to it, you're bound to the seabed, limited in movement, unable to appreciate the coral reefs and the colorful fish that dart in and out of view.

Forgiveness is letting go of the anchor. It isn't about declaring what was done to you is okay, but about unburdening yourself so you can swim freely. Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. It's the gift of letting go of the anchors you've been carrying.

1 A week of busy busy
No time to dwell in the interweb this week, means a week of work and fixing up the house with new furniture dominated. My senses haven't been too assaulted then. 

But, I did go to The Monkees show in the Auckland Town Hall. So my JFTT is dominated by them this week. Hey hey...

2 Daydream Believer
The Auckland crowd loved this, sang along and thought of Davy!



3 Joanne
Mike is a little frail now and not in the best of health it appears, but he fronted in Auckland and left an impression on me. Unfortunately he didn't do this song, but it remains a favourite of mine!




4 The Girl I Know Somewhere
My mate Greg (middle below) gave me his Monkees albums a while back. Recently he passed on his two Monkees singles to me as well, including this little gem.
