Overtime: 

The neurologist Oliver Sacks published a handful of essays before his death that were collected in Gratitude. He wrote:

I cannot pretend I am without fear. But my predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved; I have been given much and I have given something in return; I have read and travelled and thought and written. I have had an intercourse with the world, the special intercourse of writers and readers. Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and adventure.

Yes, you read that right. India recently sent 104 satellites into space FROM THE SAME ROCKET! Amazing story!

2 Our IQ's are better but we're not smart
Nice to see Nu Zild get some focus via this BBC story. Appears the modern world is not making our best and brightest very savvy. Savvy!

3 Keanu!
He's great in The Matrix and excellent as John Wick. A celebration of the Reevenator!

4 Drunk as a thrush
English has a staggering number of words for being drunk. Seriously!

5 Time waits for no one
Great piece from Brad Had (excellent and appropriate name) about work life balance. As Brad's reference to Bertrand Russell lamented, “without a considerable amount of leisure a man is cut off from many of the best things". Go read!
