1 Women who draw
Freakin' awesome site that Austin Kleon's newsletter clued me into. Here's one (Cait Brennan) I clicked randomly:
2 Look up!
As a mini project, 88 of the women who draw looked up and drew what they saw. The results are stunning!
3 Nine eleven
This is sobering
4 Han Solo
Harrison Ford appears to be the most boring man alive in interviews and so freakishly awesomely cool as Han Solo. Appears.
5 What's his name?
Dear old Mr Starkey doesn't get into the mainstream news much any more. But he did just now, with his revolutionary view on Brexit (smiley face, two thumbs...oops, wrong bloke, er, peace signs up).
Overtime
For me, cover versions have to add something to both parties to be meaningful. Think Hendrix doing Dylan, Joe Cocker doing The Beatles, and The Beatles doing The Isley Brothers.
I've been catching up on MySky recorded stuff and Norah Jones doing Young on Later With Jools Holland blew my socks off.
Unfortunately, that particular version (with Jools on some nifty organ) is not available on YouTube (annoying) but here's the cover she's put out:
I've got one, two, three, four, five senses working overtime trying to take this all in

Senses working overtime #124
1 Canada O Canada Eh
Great travelogue through Canadian landscapes and some Jesse Rowbotham standard photos along the way. All that gave me a vicarious thrill this week.
2 The Defenders
Our next bingefestathon after The Blacklist! Details are here.
3 These fake shadows are pretty cool
so here are some more.
4 The fade out
5 Dolly Dagger
Well, not exactly, but this is a sweet story about Jimi Hendrix and a note he wrote a girl 50 years ago, when she was a foxy (19 year old) lady.
Overtime: Favourites
Age 14, 24 and 30. Find out how they figure in your favourites in this cool article from the folks at medium.

Senses working overtime #123
1 Feminism sells!
Fun, spunky, thoughtful article on advertising for women.
2 Graphic design
Fun, spunky and, erm, thoughtful part 2: A fabulous romp through 500 years of graphic design in print. I love that people like Rian and Allie write these kinds of articles and position them on the interweb for us all to enjoy.
3 Your compelling reason
This piece from George Couros features an amazing advert that may make you cry (something got into my eye while watching it).
4 Voyager 2
It left 40 years ago and it's travelled an eye watering 11 billion miles so far!
5 Tay Tay's not a happy bunny
New single, new Taylor Swift. Awesome!
Overtime
Loving the font use. Anything that harks back to iconic material from Saul Bass like Vertigo gets my vote!

1 National Geographic photography awards
Pretty much doesn't get any better than this. Love this mirror image and here's more.
2 Welcome to the golden age of television
In case you were wondering, that would be right now! And I thought I'd lived through it in the sixties/seventies!
I love that photo of the writer as well. The couch, the array of pictures, her pose, the coffee table, the skirting board. All, very, cool.
3 Jim Carrey
Jim Carrey: I Needed Color from JC on Vimeo.
Genius artist!! Who knew (well, obviously, apart from him!)
4 Interview questions
Great list of things to ask your next interviewee.
5 3D Coke advert in Times Square
3D Coke Sign in Times Square from Loren Brinton on Vimeo.
I love Coke adverts!
Extra texture
If you are NOT one of the 31 million (and growing) people who have watched this amazing animated history of JAPAN vid on YouTube, then WATCH IT!!

Senses working overtime #121
1 Celebrating the wisdom of Marshall McLuhan
Some great messages from Marshall
2 Warm jets
I have none of Brian Eno's early albums. But reading this could change that situation!
3 Einstein revealed
Great piece from the fine folks at National Geographic on Albert.
4 Marry a teacher
And be happy!!
5 Social media goes critical mass!
Wohsers - these numbers are mindnumbing!
Overtime - Paper dictionaries.
I hadn't thought about this (the value of a paper dictionary) at all. And I love it when a post comes along that makes me think something new. I very much enjoy Austin Kleon's weekly newsletter summary of titbits!
