It makes me jump into the fountain. It makes me crack up inside, it really does. You're handsome, but you don't give me anything I can use. Let's have drinks in my room after church. I love you or words to that effect.
Great post on picturing history, rivers and infinity mirrors from Austin Kleon. 5 Brexit is official - what now? Nothing, is pretty much the answer as this excellent article articulates. Overtime: Aldous Harding This track cropped up on Mojo's best of 2019 CD and it fits my mood perfectly today. Enjoy!
My emotions have been all over the shop of late. When the news of Terry Jones's passing broke, TV One news included a clip showing Michael Palin overcome when talking of his friendship with Terry Jones. Got me going too! 2 Look up

Welcome back James Whatley dude - he featured this wrap up. 4 Winter is coming (Poetry corner) From Moon, January
I saw the afternoon darkly, the gloaming soon after dawn, each day spent before its hand left
its pants pocket. Those long afternoons of summer, the sun barely ducking under the horizon before bobbing up, well,
that was being young. So much to look forward to, the body waiting to angle its desires. Winter, that was another thing.
William Logan (2020) 5 The impression of 'am' (Seth Godin)
I am 41 years old
is a very different statement than
I am a vegan.
In the first case, there’s not a lot you can do about your “am”. It is an accurate description of a state of affairs over which you have no control.
In the second, it simply describes a choice. Anyone who wants to eat a certain way instantly becomes a vegan for as long as they make that choice.
The “am” that we think of as permanent identity might actually be a choice, repeated again and again.
Overtime: Dance like yo' daddy Ashleigh and Adam gave me some CDs during their visit - loving this one on Trainor's Thank You album. Appropriate too, as I joined in the wedding night dance-a-rama.

The Museum
Two lovers went to the museum and wandered the rooms. He saw a painting and stood in front of it for too long. It was a few minutes before she realized he had gotten stuck. He was stuck looking at a painting. She stood next to him, looking at his face and then the face in the painting. What do you see? she asked. I don't know, he said. He didn't know. She was disappointed, then bored. He was looking at a face and she was looking at her watch. This is where everything changed. There was now a distance between them. He was looking at a face but it might as well have been a cabbage or a sugar beet. Perhaps it was something about yellow near pink. He didn't know how to say it. Years later he still didn't know how to say it, and she was gone.

4 Tarzan Of The Apes
Just finished Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan Of the Apes. The hard copy version (from Little Red Book Shop). I don't recall ever reading it before and was pleasantly surprised how well it was written. 5 Blue Angel
Now onto this novel. So far, so good. Apart from the central relationship (professor and a promising student), not sure why the cover is an old image - it's set in this century. Gives a false impression. Overtime: Cool jazz Nothing better than some Dave Brubeck on the hot summer's day.
