Senses working overtime #563

1 The feeling this week:

2 Reading: The Stepford Wives - Ira Levin

3 Listening: The Hollies - Another Night

I'm thoroughly enjoying my Hollies-a-thon for my Goo Goo G'Joob blog. Rediscovering the joys of all those seventies albums. Another Night is a five-star effort.

4 Watched: Deeper on Netflix

Jacky's choice and it turned into a brilliant one.

5 Listening: WTWMC - Fresh finds

Our latest playlist is done and dusted!

Overtime: Marsha Petrie Sue

Senses working overtime #562

1 My week in weblogs

Photo by Florian Klauer on Unsplash

It's been a long week - split by a visit to Palmerston North (phase one of the root canal). It included a meet the teachers' evening and swimming sports on Saturday.

So, here's a recap of my blogging this week (didn't quite get to a new post on Destination Records unfortunately).

Senses working overtime #561

1 Year 9 camp week at Atiamuri

The view from my cabin. Loads of lily pads but didn't hear any frogs.

2 Listening: The Guess Who - Canned Wheat

Time for just one - the original version of No Time.

3 Watching - Hugo

Not much time for viewing TV this week while at camp, but we watched this film on Netflix when I got back. It's supposedly a kids' film but it's directed by Martin Scorsese and filmed brilliantly.

Rotten Tomatoes sums it up well: Hugo is an extravagant, elegant fantasy with an innocence lacking in many modern kids' movies, and one that emanates an unabashed love for the magic of cinema.

4 Reading: Joan Didion - The White Album.

I did take the book with me on camp and had a few down times to read it. Section 4 - Sojourns is my favourite section so far.

5 Listening: WTWMC - Fresh finds

We're up to 75 songs to this point.

Overtime: Ruth Gordon
